Obeying Traffic Laws In Acadiana Are A Must

Louisiana State Police Troop I Spokesman Stephen Hammons reminds drivers that obeying all traffic laws will lead to safer driving.

Hammons joined "Mornings With Ken and Bernie" today to talk about two specific traffic issues:

• slow drivers
• drivers merging into traffic on the interstate

Hammons says that by obeying the traffic laws, drivers will be safer doing the speed limit than doing way less than the speed limit, and he adds, that excessive speed is the reason for so many crashes.

Hammons says one other issue that drivers should pay attention to is how to merge into traffic on an interstate.  With many interchanges on Interstates 49 and 10 in Acadiana, Hammons says the driver merging into traffic must pay even greater attention to whether or not they need to yield before getting into the flow of traffic on an interstate.
