The job market is not the easiest place to be these days and many people are trying for so few jobs. That's why Newstalk 96.5 KPEL and the rest of the Townsquare Media stations are providing an opportunity for you to reach out and let potential employers know about your qualifications. It's the Oil and Gas Job Fair.

The job fair happens at the Heymann Center in Lafayette on Thursday, February 21st from 9am to 3pm.

There will be several employers at the fair, talking to you about the opportunities that they have.  But, according to the job fair organizer, Jen Carlson, that's not all you can expect at the fair.  Carlson said,

Laurie J. James is going to be there as well.  She will offer three seminars throughout the day, one at 11, one at 12 and one at 1 o'clock.  And they're just going to be different seminars on networking, resume writing, the do's and don'ts of an interview.

Carlson added that it was a great tip to be ready, wearing clothes you would wear to an interview to the job fair.  Also, it is a great idea to have plenty of copies of your resume on hand to pass out to prospective employers.
