Oil Spill In Plaquemines Parish Under Investigation

4,200 gallons of crude oil has reportedly been released from an abandoned flow line near Lake Grande Ecaille in Plaquemines Parish and the Coast Guard and other agencies are now responding.

The incident happened on Monday. The pipeline belongs to Hilcorp Energy, according to our news partners at KATC. It has been reported the spill was secured.

Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the incident.
