Older Residents Celebrate New Pineville Sidewalks

PINEVILLE, La. (AP) — A brigade made up of some of Pineville's older residents walked, or pushed scooters or rolled along in wheel chairs to celebrate completion of a road improvement and sidewalk project.

Monday's "Walk & Roll" drew attention to improvements geared toward making nearby businesses accessible to older residents.

The improvements in include the sidewalk, widening and overlay of the road and features such as signage designed to make crossing the road safer and easier for pedestrians.
