UPDATE – Man Identified In Saturday’s Lafayette Shooting

Update: The victim in Saturday's shooting in Lafayette has been identified as 37-year-old Telesfore Pickney, Sr. of Lafayette.

One man is dead following a shooting on Macon Road in Lafayette late Saturday morning.

According to our news partner, KATC, a 37-year-old man was shot and killed when an argument escalated into a shootout.

Police said the incident began as the two men were arguing inside a car. Then, the two exited the vehicle and began fighting. Two shots were then fired.

The other man was transported to a local hospital where he is being treated for a gunshot wound in the foot. He is being detained by police.

The investigation is ongoing.
