One Penny Sales Tax Ends At Midnight Tonight
The Lafayette Regional Airport will hold a celebration today at the airport for the end of the one penny, eight month sales tax to fund a new terminal.
The tax officially expires at midnight tonight.
There will be a press conference at 11 am in the Commission meeting, and after that, airport commissioners and staff will be passing out cake to all passengers during the day as a way of thanking them for supporting the airport.
The tax money will fund the new terminal along with other upgrades and renovations at the airport.
