One Person Injured During Boating Accident In St. Martin Parish

A partially submerged log is being blamed for a boating accident that injured one person in St. Martin Parish near the Catahoula boat landing.

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries said 36-year-old Teddy Thibodeaux was operating the boat when it hit the log, causing him and his passenger to fall from the boat.

Thibodeaux was not wearing a kill switch, officials said, and he subsequently received a severe laceration under his left knee.

The passenger was not injured.
