One Person Injured In Shooting At Opelousas Business

Police were called out to an apparent attempted suicide at St. Landry Lumber in Opelousas Monday morning.

Officer Darren Zachary with the Opelousas Police Department said one person was transported to Opelousas General Hospital following the shooting. The injury appears to be self-inflicted, Zachary said.

The name of the injured person has not been released until his family members can be contacted, Zachary said.

The shooting remains under investigation.
