Friday night at 9:15 Lafayette City Police were called out to the Dollar General Store in the 1100 block of West Willow Street.

The clerk told officers two black men entered the store wearing masks and produced a handgun and demanded money.  They cleaned out the cash register and drove off in a white Chevy pickup truck.  The truck was spotted by officers who chased the truck until the suspects abandoned it on Ransome Street.  A Lafayette K-9 officer caught one of the suspects, 20 year old Jacolby Boutte under a house in the 100 block of St. Charles Street.  Officers were unable to locate the other suspect.

Boutte was charged with unauthorized used of a moveable, armed robbery, resisting arrest and conspiracy to distribute cocaine.

The truck used as a getaway vehicle in the robbery was reported stolen in Lake Charles.

The store clerk at the Dollar General was not injured during the robbery.
