Opelousas Bicyclist Dies In Crash

55 Year old Joseph Norman of Opelousas was killed last night when his bicycle was struck by a truck. Norman was traveling northbound on LA 357 when he was struck in the rear by a truck driven by 69 year old Joseph Thibodeaux of Prairieville. Norman was thrown from the bike on impact. He was not wearing a helment and the bike was not equipped with reflectors or lights. Impairment is not suspected but routine toxicology samples were taken.
