Opelousas Man Accused Of Possessing Child Pornography

26-year-old Steven Micheal O'reilly has been arrested after investigators say they found over ten videos of child pornography on his computer.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz says investigators had "been tracking child pornography that was being actively downloaded at a residence on Lastrapes Street." Guidroz says that led them to O'reilly, who "did admit to downloading and viewing the child pornography.”

O'reilly is being held in the St. Landry Parish Jail with no bond.

“This arrest is one of the many from our Cyber Crimes Unit Detectives. These detectives target predators who are seeking to exploit and victimize children through the use of computers and the internet. The Cyber Crimes Detectives are highly trained in the collection, preservation, and analysis of computers and digital evidence,” Guidroz added.
