State Police investigated a two car crash on Louisiana Highway 93 near Bayou Fuslier Road, where 68-year-old Paul Young of Opelousas died.

Troopers say just before 6 o'clock last night, Young was driving his truck north on Highway 93 when he crossed the center line and hit 57-year-old's Beatrice Rabalais' car head-on.

Young, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead by the St. Martin Parish Coroner.  State Police report Rabalais was wearing a seat belt and sustained moderate injuries.

Investigators says they took toxicology samples from both drivers, and those will be submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis.  This crash remains under investigation.

Troopers says this was the third fatal crash that Troop I has investigated since Saturday.  Troopers remind everyone that state law requires anyone in a vehicle must be buckled up.

They remind drivers and passengers that while wearing a seat belt may not save you in every crash, it will greatly reduce your risk of injury in most crashes.
