A man accused of improperly storing hazardous waste stemming from a police investigation has been vindicated by a federal judge. Hubert Vidrine Jr. of Opelousas filed a lawsuit claiming he was wrongly indicted and prosecuted on the charges stemming from an investigation into Canal Refining Company of Church Point. The Lafayette judge agreed with him. Vidrine was awarded more than one and a half million dollars.
