OPELOUSAS, LA. (KPEL) -- Police in Opelousas are looking for a man whom they say is responsible for robbing the Whitney Bank on the I-49 service road.

Police say a white man, whom they believe to be 49-year-old Stacey Joseph Sebastien, walked into the bank and handed a note to the teller. That note indicated he had a gun, but the teller did not see one. Police say the suspect walked away with $4,000 in cash.

Sebastien is known throughout the area, according to police, and he frequents horse races around the state. If you know his whereabouts, you're urged to call Opelousas Police at 948-2500 or Crime Stoppers of St. Landry Parish at 948-TIPS.
