Opelousas Woman Facing Inappropriate Sexual Contact With Juveniles Charges

The investigation into a 35-year-old Opelousas woman continues after a concerned parent gave officers evidence of inappropriate electronic communications with the the concerned parent's son.

Franchesca Spears is facing several charges related to incidents with three separate juveniles.

The charges include:

• Two Counts of Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor
• Felony Carnal Knowledge of a Minor
• Indecent Behavior with Juveniles
• Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes.
• Pornography Involving Juveniles

Spears is being held on a $97,500 bond.

Detectives say they are still interviewing people and more charges are a possibility.

Sheriff Bobby Guidroz says,

"Franchesca Spears has been arrested and she will have her day in court. In the meantime, as Sheriff, I ask that any parents associated with this investigation refrain from unnecessary discussion regarding the details of the case. When our detectives have finished their investigation, the case file will be turned over to the District Attorney's Office. Until then, let those dedicated professionals do their job. Any un-released information entered into the public forum in places like Facebook could potentially interfere with our ongoing investigation."
