Overall Crime Down Across City Of Lafayette

2014 crime statistics have been released by Lafayette Police, and nearly all of the numbers indicate good news.

Overall, Lafayette Police say there was a 10% decrease in total reported crimes within the City of Lafayette from 2013 to 2014. The biggest drop came in the Forcible Rape category, which dropped 41%. The next biggest drop was in Theft, by 13%, followed by Homicide at 10%.

Only two categories actually showed an increase in crime from 2013 to 2014. Auto Theft showed a 37% increase and Calls for Service increased by 5%.
