The Lafayette Police Department has scheduled an OWI checkpoint for Friday night through Saturday morning somewhere within the city limits.

Police will start the OWI checkpoint at 9 o'clock Friday night, and it will end at 3 o'clock Saturday morning.

Police say they will respond with zero tolerance to anyone who is driving impaired and under the influence of any intoxicating substance.

Lafayette officers ask everyone to designate a driver anytime you will be drinking.

Not designating a driver can end up costing you a lot of money, and you could go to jail.
