U.S. Military

The Obama budget calls for cuts for military families that will hit close to home.  Healthcare plans will see cuts for active duty and retired members, but the same cuts will not be seen for unionized civilian defense workers.  Their benefits will remain untouched.  That means that members of the military will pay more for healthcare.  There are some saying that this would affect members of the military staying in the service and recruitment of new members.

Is this a cut that needs to be made or is this beyond what we need to be cutting in the federal budget?
