BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Melanie Ezell, Parkview Baptist School headmaster, has been removed by the Baton Rouge private school's board of directors.

Huey Beason, acting board president, tells The Advocate Ezell, who has served as the school's headmaster for over five years, is no longer an employee of the school.

When asked why the board voted to remove Ezell, Beason told the newspaper members decided they wanted to go "in a different direction."

A school spokeswoman said the decision was made Monday night at a special board meeting.

Beason says Will Williams, former board president, will serve as school headmaster until an interim is named.

In a statement to WBRZ-TV, Ezell said she would not comment on her dismissal.
