St. Mary Parish detectives received a complaint from a parents Thursday about a 35-year-old man calling their daughter "sweetie" on Facebook.  This started an investigation that lead to the arrested of Louis James of 127 Emy Lane,Lot #59.

One of the parents was alarmed by the fact that a 35-year-old man would call their 13-year-old daughter "sweetie", and so a detective posed as a 15-year-old girl on the social media site to communicate with James.

The detective agreed to meet James on Zenor Road that night.

The Facebook conversation between the detective and James included plans for the two to engage in sexual activity.

When James showed up to try to meet this "girl", who was the officer, detectives say James took off running.

James was arrested a short time later by other detectives waiting at the scene.

The man was then taken to jail and charged with the following:

  • Computer aided solicitation of a minor
  • Indecent behavior with a juvenile
