COVINGTON, La. (AP) — A 39-year-old Pearl River man who was arrested earlier this week in Mississippi after being accused of stabbing his father to death has been booked into the St. Tammany Parish jail on a second-degree murder charge.

Billie Glenn Rawson Jr. was arrested Tuesday in Long Beach, Miss. and was held in the Harrison County Jail until he was brought back to St. Tammany Parish. Sheriff Jack Strain said Rawson and his father got into a fight Tuesday morning.

When deputies arrived at the home in Pearl River, Strain says they found the father dead and the son gone.

St. Tammany Parish Coroner Dr. Peter Galvan tells The Times-Picayune 67-year-old Billie Glenn Rawson Sr. died from a stab wound to the left leg.
