PEARL RIVER, La. (AP) — Beginning Monday, the Chris Kennedy Bridge in the Pearl River area will be closed for repairs.

St. Tammany Parish officials say the bridge is expected to be closed for two weeks. This bridge is on Chris Kennedy Road, south of Louisiana Highway 41 and north of Detwiller Road.

Residents of the Pearl River and Hickory areas who need to access the road north of the bridge can do so from Highway 41 or from Dummyline Road. Those residents needing to access Chris Kennedy Road south of the bridge can do so from Pine Street Extension.

Work on the bridge will include replacing bulkheads, repairing piles, installing drainpipe and putting in rip rap. In addition, there will be a mill and overlay of the road surface.
