Pedestrian Lying On Road Killed In Hit-And-Run Crash

Louisiana State Police are searching for the driver of a late model GMC truck or SUV who may be responsible for a hit-and-run fatality.

Master Trooper Brooks David reported a 60-year-old pedestrian, Larry Finister, of Berwick was killed Sunday night on U.S. 90 near Ricohoc, in St. Mary Parish. Investigators believed Finister was lying in the outside travel lane when he was run over.

Finister, who was pronounced dead at the scene by St. Mary Parish Coroner's Office, is suspected to have been intoxicated when he was struck.

Troopers are advising the driver involved in the crash, or anyone with information on the hit-and-run fatality, to contact Louisiana State Police at (337) 262-5880.
