Pedestrian Struck, Killed West Of Port Allen
PORT ALLEN, La. (AP) — State police say a 57-year-old Plaquemine man has died of injuries after being struck by a pickup on U.S. Highway 190.
The accident happened shortly after 1:45 a.m. Friday west of La. Highway 1145 in West Baton Rouge Parish.
Troopers say Nathan C. Tobias, Jr. was placing orange warning triangles in the roadway to alert motorists of a crash between two 18-wheelers when he was hit by a pickup.
Tobias was taken by ambulance to Baton Rouge General Mid-City Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The driver of the pickup was not injured.
