In their most exciting win of the season, the New Orleans Pelicans (26-37) defeated the Denver Nuggets 101-107 in double overtime.

Anthony Davis set a new franchise record in the win. Before Sunday night, no player in franchise history put up a stat line of 30+ points, 15+ rebounds and 5+ blocks in a game. Davis finished with 32 points, 17 rebounds, and 6 blocks. It marks his last NBA game as a 20 year old. He turns 21 on Tuesday.

"I just tried to be aggressive," said Davis after the win. "Most importantly, we got the win. I care about winning more than anything."

Tyreke Evans added 20 points for New Orleans, who needed every one of them to force overtime.

Anthony Morrow came off the bench to lead the Pelicans with 14 points, including the last 2 of regulation. With Ty Lawson's hand in his face, Morrow pulled up and sunk a 15 foot jumper with 1 second left, forcing overtime.

"Thank God I hit the shot," said Morrow. "I had missed my last two, so I knew that one was going in."

It wasn't the prettiest game, as both teams combined for 51 turnovers. However, it was exciting, especially for two teams that are out of playoff contention.

Denver led by as many as 15 in the first quarter, but the Pelicans kept chipping away. The overtime period alone had 9 lead changes, but in the end, Davis and the Pels made the plays when they needed to.

Austin Rivers (who finished with 13 points) drew defensive assignments on Denver guards Ty Lawson and Aaron Brooks late, and overall, did an outstanding job. In the past, Williams has left Brian Roberts in on defense late in games. Sunday night, Rivers' number was called and he delivered.

"Defensively, Austin on the ball was phenomenal," said coach Monty Williams. "I think our guys have more chemistry with each other and guys are understanding selfless basketball. When we play through A.D. (Davis), it just works better for us."

3 is the magic number for New Orleans. The Pelicans are 3-0 in overtime this season, and are currently on a 3 game winning streak. Next up, they'll host the Memphis Grizzlies (36-26) Wednesday night. New Orleans is 3-0 against the Grizz this season.
