The Pelicans and Clippers got out to a hot start on Monday on the offensive end and Julius Randle specifically who had 10 of the Pelicans first 19 points to give them a 19-15 lead in the first quarter. Doc Rivers then called a timeout, after that the Clips went on an 11-0 run to take a 26-19 lead right back.
The defense would be lackluster on both ends as the Clippers would lead 36-32 with Julius Randle and Jahlil Okafor putting in some really good work for New Orleans.
In the second quarter, Anthony Davis would take over after a slow start by carrying the team with 13 points. At the break, the Pelicans would grab the lead by outscoring the Clippers 34-27 and lead 66-63.
