Person Of Interest, Girlfriend Sought In Death Of Butte La Rose Man

St. Martin Parish investigators have identified a person of interest in a mysterious death of as Butte LaRose man.

Sheriff's spokesperson Maj. Ginny Higgins reported investigators are searching for 28-year-old Gary Brackett, of Carencro, for the death of 68-year-old Richard "Dick" Hanson of Butte LaRose.

Investigators responded to Hanson's home Tuesday evening as after a friend located Hanson deceased at the Atchafalaya Highway address.

Investigators are currently attempting to locate Brackett to question him in connection with this case.  He may be accompanied by his girlfriend, who has been identified as Jamie Lee Smith, 35, of Breaux Bridge.
