Lafayette Police Corporal Paul Mouton says they have now identified a "Person of Interest" that they wanted to speak to who they believe was in the area of Yogurtland right before it was robbed last weekend.

Mouton has not released the identity of the person, but he did say detectives are in the process of interviewing the subject, and their investigation is ongoing.

Police say the "Person of Interest" was see getting into a white Toyota 4-Runner, driven by an unidentified black male, right before the robbery happened at the yogurt shop.

On May 24 around noon, Lafayette Police were called out to Yogurtland in the 100 block of East Kaliste Saloom Road after an armed robbery was reported.

The employees says the suspected robber turned off the power to the store, and then he went in armed with a gun to demand money.

The suspect was described as a black male wearing a traffic vest, dark pants, work boots and a bandana over his face.

Employees gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash, and the suspect fled in an unknown direction.  No one was injured during the crime.

Anyone with information is still being urged to call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
