After a disturbance Sunday morning at a Scott home, police officers arrested 29-year-old Danielle Cooper of Lafayette.

Scott Police say Cooper's mother called police to say her daughter showed up at her home and began causing a disturbance with family members.

Police say while the disturbance was going on, two family members realized that a Hewlit Packard laptop along with a L.G. tablet were missing.

Police say Danielle Cooper admitted she took the items and gave them to someone, then when they were reading her rights to her, Cooper told police she had stolen both items.

After treatment at a local hospital, Danielle Cooper has been charged with the following:

  • One count of theft over $500 which is a felony
  • One count of theft less than $500 which is a misdemeanor
  • Disturbing the peace by intoxication

The incident happened Sunday morning around 9:25 a.m. at home located at 1410 Westgate Road in Scott.
