PETA and Thanksgiving and President Obama

PETA has asked President Obama to do away with the Turkey pardon ceremony at the White House, saying that it

makes light of the mass slaughter of some 46 million gentle, intelligent birds.

It also says the annual event,

portrays the United States president as being in some sort of business partnership with the turkey-killing industry.

The President obviously didn't carry out their request.  He did manage to sneak campaign stuff into the pardon.  Didn't anyone tell him that the campaign is over?
