UL junior quarterback Terrance Broadway

College football writer and prognosticator Phil Steele has tabbed three members of Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns to his 2013 Preseason All-Sun Belt Conference first team, with quarterback Terrance Broadway, offensive lineman Daniel Quave, and linebacker Justin Anderson receiving the honors.

Broadway, the junior from Baton Rouge, had an outstanding 2012 campaign with Louisiana, his first after transferring from the University of Houston, where he played in 2010. After replacing the injured Blaine Gautier as the starting quarterback early in the season, Broadway threw for 2,842 yards, and 17 touchdowns, while rushing for another 769 yards, and nine touchdowns.

Interestingly, Steele picks Broadway, who was named honorable mention on the 2012 All-Sun Belt Conference team, ahead of ULM quarterback Kolton Browning, who was the league's Offensive Player of the Year, a season ago.

Quave, the junior from Gauthier, Mississippi, will be part of a Louisiana offensive line that will be looking to replace the likes of Leonardo Bates and Jaron Odom. A two-year starter for the Cajuns, Quave and his younger brother, Mykhael, along Andre Huval, are expected to anchor the offensive front.

Anderson, the senior linebacker from Foley, Alabama, led Louisiana is tackles last season, his first as a full time starter, making 105 stops, including two sacks, and one interception.

Steele named eight Cajuns to his second team, including running back Alonzo Harris, receivers Jamal Robinson and Darryl Surgent, and offensive linemen Andre Huval and Mykheal Quave on offense, along with defensive linemen Christian Ringo and Justin Hamilton, and defensive back Darius Barksdale on the defensive side of the ball.

Finally, on Steele's preseason third-team, linebacker Jake Molbert made the list on defense.

Louisiana, who has gone 9-4 the last two seasons, including back-to-back wins in the New Orleans Bowl, open up their 2013 season on August 31, when they travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas, to take on the Arkansas Razorbacks, in non-conference action.
