38-year-old Carlin Jerrid Montgomery of Abbeville pleaded guilty to possessing a .45-caliber pistol and ammunition found in his home on April 28, 2017. Having a possession of crack cocaine conviction on his record already, he is not allowed to possess a firearm.

According to court documents, the handgun was concealed in the exterior shell of a black metal stereo tuner lying on the floor under his bedroom window.

Montgomery faces up to ten years in prison, three years of probation and a $250,000.00 fine.

Sentencing is set for September 28, 2018.
