Lafayette Police have arrested a 17-year-old man whom they said shot someone Thursday evening.

According to police department spokesperson Cpl. Paul Mouton, the victims told officers that Jacoby Andrus was in a vehicle near them when a disturbance occurred. Andrus allegedly got out of his car and fired a gun in the direction of his victims and struck one of them in the leg.

The victim was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

Andrus fled the scene in a red car, but police located him a short time later on Crestview. He has been booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on three counts of attempted second degree murder.

The case remains under investigation.
