Police Conduct Seat Belt Checkpoint In Calcasieu Parish

Authorities continue their efforts to keep drivers buckled up in Calcasieu Parish. State Police, along with the sheriff's office, screened over 2,000 vehicles. 17 citations were issued for those not having a seat belt. Also, 48 other citations were handed out on charges ranging from expired motor vehicle inspection and driving under suspension among other charges.
