UPDATE: Man Wanted In Bourbon Street Shootings Turns Himself In

UPDATE July 3, 7:25 a.m. A man wanted as a person of interest in last weekend's Bourbon Street shootings has turned himself in to Gretna Police.

20-year-old Justin Odom was questioned by homicide detectives last night and later booked on an unrelated shoplifting warrant. Odom was identified in surveillance footage after the shooting last Sunday that injured nine and killed 21-year-old Brittany Thomas of Hammond.

In the aftermath of the shooting, Louisiana State Police is sending more troopers to help  in New Orleans. Mayor Mitch Landrieu has requested that 100 extra members of LSP be permanently assigned to the city. Superintendent Col. Mike Edmonson says 30 additional troopers have been assigned to the French Quarter and surrounding areas through the weekend. Forty-five troopers already work in the city permanently.

UPDATE 4:17 p.m. One of the 10 people injured in a weekend shooting on Bourbon Street died Wednesday afternoon. Twenty-one-year-old Brittany Thomas of Hammond was the only one of 10 victims listed in critical condition. Four others remain hospitalized.

ORIGINAL July 2, 2:41 p.m. New Orleans Police are looking for two men they consider persons of interest in last weekend's Bourbon Street shootings.

Nola.com reports police identified 20-year-old Justin Odom through previously released surveillance images, and are also seeking his associate, known only as "Josh" or "Joe," for their involvement in the shooting that wounded ten people Sunday.
