Police Investigate Suspicious Death

This afternoon around 3:30 pm, Lafayette Police responded to the 500 block of South Pierce Street regarding a found dead body. 

A witness tells police he was cleaning a nearby yard when he observed a decomposed body lying in tall grass on a vacant lot.  Investigators advised that the body is a male victim and is being treated as a suspicious death.  The identity of the victim is unknown.  The investigation remains ongoing.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the incident to call the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
