ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) — The Rapides Parish Police Jury has selected the architectural firm that will oversee the $20 million renovation of the Rapides Parish Coliseum

The Town Talk reports the design by Barron Heinberg & Brocato was selected Monday night.

Voters will decide in November whether to approve a $23 million bond issue, backed by a 2.5 mill property tax, that supporters say will transform the coliseum.

The design would double or nearly double existing parking; build on to the shell of the existing coliseum to add a new tier of seats and skyboxes; add removable seats to the floor; install new sound, lighting and electrical systems; refurbish meeting areas and dressing rooms.
