Two Henderson Police officers, Chief Leroy Guidry and Deputy Chief Oliver Lloyd, have pled not guilty in the 16th Judicial District Court in St. Martinville on Monday to charges of public payroll fraud, filing false public records and malfeasance in office.

The two officers are accused of running an alleged illegal ticket quota and bounty system. St. Martin Parish Prosecutor Chester Cedars says Chief Guidry and Deputy Chief Lloyd were allegedly rewarding officers with an hour of overtime pay for every two tickets written.

According to our news partners at KATC, invoices say the police chief billed the state and the city of Henderson for more than $189,000 for tickets written, which is more than 12,000 tickets issued in 3 years.
