BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Police says a 27-year-old man wanted for his role in a shooting was recaptured early Monday.

Cpl. L'Jean McKneely, a Baton Rouge police spokesman, says 27-year-old Ryan Boatner had escaped in handcuffs Sunday night while being processed at the multi-agency Violent Crimes Unit at State Police headquarters

After his recapture around 2:15 a.m. Monday, Boatner was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

He will be booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and charged with counts of attempted first-degree murder, attempted armed robbery, criminal damage to property and simple escape.

Boatner was first arrested Sunday along with two other men when the trio showed up at a hospital after a shootout.
