Police are asking the public's assistance in locating a suspect involved in an early Sunday morning shooting that left one teenager in critical condition.

According to our news partner KATC, Lafayette Police responded to a shooting in the 4600 block of Johnston Street at approximately 1:20 a.m. Sunday morning.

Witnesses told police a group of males were standing near the entrance at 4607 Johnston St. when someone in a vehicle began shooting before fleeing the scene.

The 16-year-old victim, who was shot in the arm and chest, was transported to a local hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
