Political Blogger Walt Bennetti joined 'Mornings With Ken and Bernie' today and discussed:

  • Governor Bobby Jindal's so-called "Stupid Speech"
  • Senator Mary Landrieu speech regarding entitlements
  • Vice-President Joe Biden's support of Senator Landrieu
  • The Fresh Market/Milk controversy

Bennetti said,

I loved the Governor's speech regarding the Republican party.  He made a lot of good points and said there were seven keys to GOP success.  I don't know if they need seven or more than that to be relevant again.  It was kind of like the Republican Party's 12 Step Program minus five.  Showing that Bobby Jindal can already start cutting the budget.  Among other things Jindal said the Republican Party must become color-blind and I think that's an interesting point.

According to Bennetti,

We had super-Biden this past week in New Orleans to coincide with Super Bowl Week.  450 people paid $250 to $2,500 to attend an event featuring Vice-President Joe Biden and Senator Mary Landrieu...Biden quipped it was great to attend a Landrieu family reunion.  Biden came on-stage to Bruce Sprinsteen's song "We Take Care Of Our Own" then proceeded to say that Mary Landrieu was bi-partisan which doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

On Monday Senator Landrieu spoke on the Senate floor and Bennetti took issue with her comments regarding entitlements.  According to Bennetti,

She said the federal discretionary budget is not out of control despite what you hear on Fox News...I don't know what she's thinking.  Entitlements are 62 percent of the budget.

Bennetti covered a lot more on Senator Landrieu and Governor Jindal in the interview which you can listen to here:
