  • At the closing bell, the Dow Jones advanced 88 points to 13,090, the S&P 500 added 19 points to 1391 and the Nasdaq gained 68 points to 3030.
  • A weaker-than-expected March durable goods orders had little effect in discouraging investors following several strong corporate profit tallies and an upward revision in the Federal Reserve’s economic growth forecast.
  • Shares of Apple rallied $49.72 to $610.00 after strong iPhone sales in China helped the company exceed analysts’ expectation in the quarter.
