Power Outage In Lafayette Restored

A dump truck accidentally caused a power outage for some SLEMCO customers in Lafayette today.

It happened near the 2:00 p.m. hour and lasted for exactly 32 minutes. SLEMCO Communications Manager Mary A. Laurent says the dump truck pulled down the line while doing work.

The brief outage affected between 1,500 and 2,000 people.
