Power Outages In Iberia And Vermilion Parishes Leave Residents Without Power

A blown transformer on Avery Island Road has led to more than 300 people being without power in Iberia Parish.

According to our news partners at KATC, there are downed power lines on the roads after a tree near the transformer caught fire. Entergy is working to fix the problem.

It's unknown what has caused more than 900 Entergy customers in the Erath area of Vermilion Parish to lose power. That has been the case since about 4:00 p.m.
