Prison Alternatives

Some state lawmakers are considering bills to make more non-violent offenders eligible for release from prison.  They say it would save the state money.  The proposals would free elderly inmates, reduce time for parole eligibility for certain crimes, and look at alternatives to prison for probation and parole violations.
