DONETSK, Ukraine (AP) — Pro-Russian separatists continue to occupy the security services building in the eastern city of Luhansk as part of uprisings in Ukraine's industrial heartland in the east.

The region has a large population of ethnic Russians and hostility is strong toward the interim government in Kiev.

Ukraine's Security Service says 56 people held inside the Luhansk building have been released.
