Proposal Could Cut Millions From Transportation Funds For State

Louisiana faces possible cuts to federal transportation funds of up to $271 million under a new House proposal. The six-year plan by Republican House Transportation and Infrasturcture Chairman John Mica would cut transportation funding across the nation by 34 percent. Mica says his proposal is being considered as talks about spending cuts continue between the Congress and President Obama. Mica says more can be done with less.
