Proposed Ouachita Fire Budget About Flat
MONROE, La. (AP) — The Ouachita Parish Fire Department expects finances for fiscal year 2013 will run about the same as its current fiscal year.
The News Star (http://tnsne.ws/RG1Ota) reports Fire Chief Pat Hemphill has turned in the department's proposed 2013 budget to the Ouachita Parish Police Jury.
Revenue for the 2012 year was $14.8 million while expenditures were $13.5 million. The department projects 2013 revenue at $14.6 million with $14.3 million in expenditures.
Hemphill said the department has generated a surplus each year since 2005.
