BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Public hearings will be held in Baton Rouge and eight other cities starting Wednesday to discuss area highway projects and needs.

The Advocate reports the gatherings are an annual series by the state Department of Transportation and Development and the Legislature's Joint Highway Priority Construction Committee.

The hearing in Baton Rouge is set for Oct. 10 in House Committee Room 1 at the State Capitol.

One will be held Oct. 9 in the Yenni Building Council Chambers in Jefferson Parish.

Others hearings will be held in in Winnsboro, Monroe; Shreveport, Alexandria, Lake Charles, Lafayette and Amite.
