Rabies – Still Deadly But Preventable
Rabies in pets can still prove fatal to humans. Harry Chaisson, Field Supervisor for Lafayette Animal Control joined "Mornings With Ken & Bernie" to discuss the parishes efforts to prevent rabies in the community. Chaisson said "two clinics will be operated this month with one occurring tomorrow and one next Saturday".
The clinics will be held from 1:30 until 2:30PM at various locations across the parish and you can get those locations by listening to the interview with Chaisson. Last year during this time period over two Saturdays over 1000 pets were vaccinated.
Mr. Chaisson said a licensed veterinarian will be on had so dogs and cats will be vaccinated for only $7.00 and pets will also be registered as is required by Parish law.
